The FEMA Mitigation Safe Room Policy provides guidance on the use of HMA funding for extreme wind mitigation activities including safe rooms under the Pre-Disaster Mitigation program (PDM) and the Hazard Mitigation Grant Program (HMGP).
The FEMA Mitigation Wildfire policy establishes the requirements for wildfire mitigation projects for the HMGP and PDM programs in accordance with sections 203 and 404 of the Robert T. Stafford Disaster Relief and Emergency Assistance Act (Stafford Act), 42 U.S.C. 5121-5207.
