The threat of wildland fires is real and can devastate property an areas within seconds. Dry conditions at various times of the year and in various parts of the United States greatly increase the potential for wildland fires. Advance planning and knowing how to protect buildings in these areas can lessen the devastation of a wildland fire. There are several safety precautions that can be used to reduce the risk of fire losses. The BCA Resource Kit can be used to address wildfire hazards and guide you through conducting a thorough Benefit-Cost Analysis, including the need to address multiple hazards in a single BCA module run.
Fire Management Assistance Grant Program
Assistance for the mitigation, management, and control of fires on publicly or privately owned forests or grasslands, which threaten such destruction as would constitute a major disaster.
