The Department of Homeland Security and FEMA both provide and support a variety of professional and educational development opportunities for FEMA employees. Information about these programs is also available on the Office of the Chief Component Human Capital Officer website under “Professional Development” Some of these programs are paid for by the Department and others are FEMA-supported. The OCCHCO wants to ensure that your employees continually learn new skills and information that will improve their work performance and enhance their careers in FEMA. A few of these professional development programs are the:

- DHS Master’s Degree Program
- Executive Leadership Program (Graduate School)
- OPM’s Federal Executive Institute
- Capitol Hill Fellowship Program
- FEMA’s “Future leaders Program”
