The Office of Chief Component Human Capital will launch the 2012 Employee Viewpoint Survey on April 30, 2012. We invite employees to participate through a link that employees will receive by individual email.
The survey will help evaluate the dynamics within FEMA that impact the agency’s most essential asset, the workforce. The Human Capital office encourages employees to participate as the results of the survey are a key source for obtaining input from FEMA employees that can impact the policies, programs, and operation of the Agency.
In 2011, Employee Viewpoint Survey results were analyzed and discussed with senior leadership through a series of presentations and meetings. This resulted in assessment of the current performance management and rewards programs, evaluation of internal communication methods, and examination of training and leadership development opportunities. Additionally, FEMA participated in a Department of Homeland Security Executive Steering Committee to discuss actions that can be taken throughout the Department.
Unlike in 2011, this year’s survey will target all permanent employees. Efforts this year will also include our Stafford Act employees. For the first time CORE and Reservist employees will be eligible to participate in a version of the survey that will be launched in August. The survey is another step toward ensuring input from the total FEMA workforce.
The Human Capital office has requested that supervisors ensure that employees have an opportunity during the workday (approximately 20 - 25 minutes) to complete the survey, which is designed to allow stopping at any point and resuming the survey later. Responses are both voluntary and strictly confidential. The survey is administered by the Office of Personnel Management and responses will not be attributed to individual employees. Any questions can be directed to Vanessa Graf Wallace of the Human Capital office to at email@example.com.
Thank you for your continued dedication and service.
