A large crowd of enthusiastic community officials, the public and the media gathered in Caguas, P.R. on Friday, June 1, for the grand opening and ribbon-cutting ceremony of Logistics Management Division’s brand new Caribbean Distribution Center. FEMA leadership who unveiled the substantially-upgraded facility during the ceremony included Associate Administrator Elizabeth Zimmerman, Assistant Administrator Eric Smith , Regional Administrator Lynn Canton, and Caribbean Area Division Director Alejandro de la Campa.

The Caribbean Distribution Center is a greatly-expanded 80,000 square feet warehouse, in a much more strategically-located site than the previous facility. One of ten distribution centers maintained by FEMA, this facility now forms a critical function in support of FEMA’s all-hazard’s mission for the Caribbean region.
