The FEMA Internal Rotation Program is a professional development program designed to engage and strengthen the FEMA workforce. The Internal Rotation Program has updated announcements for interested employees.

The Career Development Office has posted the following 4 internal rotation announcements:


NEW Office of Nation Capital Region Coordination
PFT/ Program Analyst, GS-11-14

FEMA and the entire emergency management community are called to be our best during times of national crisis; and the past three decades presented challenges and conditions that necessitate continuous reevaluation of how we deliver emergency management services. To address those challenges, FEMA’s senior leadership uses a performance-based management process called FEMASTAT. This process involves a series of frequent, integrated meetings during which principal members of the FEMA leadership team use current data to analyze performance and identify solutions for ongoing problems. FEMASTAT is managed by the Office of Policy and Program Analysis (OPPA), which is seeking several people for three-six month rotational assignments to the FEMASTAT team.

NEW Office of Nation Capital Region Coordination
PFT/ Program Analyst, GS-9-13

The Office of National Capital Region Coordination (NCRC) within Protection and National Preparedness (PNP) is currently seeking an individual at the GS-9-13 level for a detail lasting 6 months to support NCRC's Risk Division. This position is critical to supporting a web-based resource (The Full-Spectrum Risk Knowledgebase) that offers information all-hazard risks and provides decision support to diverse stakeholders. The individual will work as part of the program team and perform various tasks to aid in program management.

Office of Disability Integration and Coordination
PFT/Administrative Specialist, GS-5 - 11

The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) office has two 90-day rotational assignments available for a GS-5-11 to work in the Office of Disability Integration and Coordination (ODIC). The individuals will assist with the relocation of the Interagency Coordinating Council (ICC) to FEMA and participate in the ODIC conference planning team.

Office of Protection and National Preparedness (PNP), Office of National Preparedness
PFT/ Program Coordinator, GS-9 - 14

FEMA’s Individual and Community Preparedness Division (ICPD) and External Affairs (the Ready Campaign) are jointly seeking four people (GS 9 - 14), 2 for a six-month and 2 for a three-month detail, to assist in implementing the campaign outlined in PPD-8, to “coordinate a comprehensive campaign to build and sustain national preparedness, including public outreach and community-based and private-sector programs to enhance national resilience.” The Ready Campaign and ICPD are currently forming a team to plan and implement preparedness messaging nationwide with a focus on expanding National Preparedness Month 2012 and promoting a Whole Community approach to preparedness. The detail positions are available from May through October 2012 (or August through October 2012) and are open to all DHS & DHS/FEMA PFT/TFT employees in the National Capital Region.
