  • When Tropical Storm Irene hit Vermont, more than eleven inches of rain destroyed homes, streets, and historic bridges. Brown Bridge, Shrewsbury Vermont survived. However the roadway leading to it did not. As the locals say, "This is Our Bridge" They cannot wait to be able to use it again.

FEMA Public Assistance, Environmental and Historical Programs are assisting the reconstruction process. The FEMA team toured the complex. Governor Shumlin lays out the process going forward.
