School administrators and other officials break ground at a ceremony for the Recovery School District’s new Miller - McCoy Academy for Mathematics and Business.
New Orleans, La., November 13, 2013 -- Mike Womack, Director of FEMA’s Louisiana Recovery Office, joins school administrators and other officials at a groundbreaking ceremony for the Recovery School District’s new Miller - McCoy Academy for Mathematics and Business. The school is to be constructed on the site of the former Edward Livingston Middle School campus in East New Orleans, which is part of the noteworthy Single Settlement Request (SSR). FEMA has provided $53,147,885.82 for this project and has obligated a total of $1.8 billion for the Recovery School District/Orleans Parish School Board single settlement.
