Catwalk Raised From Marina

Perth Amboy, N.J., March 21, 2013 -- At the Perth Amboy Marina, one of the catwalks was ripped from its base by Hurricane Sandy and dropped into the protected area behind the bulkhead during the storm. During the debris removal process a scuba diver affixes ropes and chains to the article to be retrieved and it is pulled from the water by a crane. The New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection is an applicant in one of FEMA's Public Assistance programs which may provide federal funding for a portion of the clean-up cost.
