Belmar, N.J., Feb. 4, 2013 -- The base for the new Belmar boardwalk stretches to what will eventually be a 1.3 mile walkway anchored by pilings driven 25 feet into the sand to create a stronger structure than that which was destroyed by Hurricane Sandy late last October. The borough of Belmar was the first along the Jersey shore to begin their boardwalk reconstruction effort. Photo by Sharon Karr/FEMA - Location: Belmar, NJ
