City of Gulfport Department of Public Works Warehouse Consolidation, Harrison County, Mississippi (May 2007)

On August 29, 2005, Hurricane Katrina struck the Mississippi Gulf Coast, causing extensive damage. Two buildings operated by the Gulfport Department of Public Works were more than 50% damaged during the storm, and have since been demolished. The City of Gulfport has submitted an application for funding under FEMA's Public Assistance Program to replace the lost facilities. FEMA is required to review the environmental effects of the proposed action prior to making a funding decision. FEMA has prepared this Environmental Assessment in accordance with the National Environmental Policy Act.
