Gladwin County EM’s objective is to improved radio coverage throughout Gladwin County. In a large portion of Gladwin County there are issues related to the loss of radio coverage at this time. Consequently, there is a need to ensure that the public safety telecommunication infrastructure is capable of providing and maintaining radio coverage, especially during an emergency event. Therefore, the specific need addressed in this document and by the HSGP grant award is that of providing sufficient system capability to achieve radio coverage throughout Gladwin County. In accordance with the National Environmental Policy Act of 1969, the Council on Environmental Quality (CEQ) regulations implementing NEPA (40 Code of Federal Regulations [CFR] Parts 1500 through 1508), and DHS Management Directive 5100.1, FEMA must fully understand and consider the environmental consequences of actions proposed for federal funding.
