The FEMA Office of the Chief Component Human Capital Officer, Career Development and Training Branch (CDTB) is providing additional Human Resources for Supervisors and Managers classes to ensure agency supervisors and managers hired or promoted prior to Fiscal Year (FY) 2012 meet their developmental obligations and have a quality learning experience. This course is designed to provide an overview and understanding of personnel management responsibilities, laws and regulations necessary to effectively accomplish organizational objectives. The course has also been extended to 5 full days to include additional DHS requirements. Applications are now being accepted for the following dates:

Time: 8:30 am – 4:00 pm
Eligibility: FEMA Permanent full-time (PFT) Supervisors and Managers hired or promoted prior to FY12. This will count towards your continual learning obligation. Interested CORE supervisors and managers may also apply.
- Employees hired or promoted into a supervisory role in FY12 and beyond: You will be assigned to the Fundamentals of Leadership Program, a one-year program that includes an interactive orientation; Leadership Essentials, a 40-hour course; and Foundations of Leadership, a series of one-hour activities. Participants also receive an initial baseline assessment and 360-assessment at the end of your first year.
- Employees located outside of the National Capital Region: You are only required to complete the Leadership Essentials to satisfy the continual learning and the HR for Supervisors and Managers obligation.
Costs: There is no cost for the training; however, the employee’s office, directorate or region is responsible for any travel cost associated with this training.
