The FEMA Leader Development Program is still accepting applications for the following:
Emerging Leaders Programs (GS-12 and under) – This program provides employees the opportunity to identify personal strengths and begin building proficiency in leader competencies. The one-year program combines three in-person sessions with independent and group activities.
Future Leaders Program (GS-9 – GS-12) – This program provides employees the chance to learn first-hand about leadership within the agency, while developing proficiency in leader competencies that prepares participants to effectively lead projects and teams.
FEMA Fellows Program (GS-13 – GS-14) – This program provides employees the opportunity to experience the role of leader through the development and implementation of strategy and policy.
FEMA Fundamentals of Leadership (Newly hired or promoted supervisors) – This program focuses on 18 knowledge areas that prepare individuals for their first federal government supervisory role. The program features Leadership Essentials, a 40-hour in-person courses and Foundations of Leadership, a series of interactive and independent online activities.
Additionally, any supervisor who has not completed the HR for Supervisors course may sign up for the Leadership Essentials course by emailing LDC@fema.dhs.gov. Courses are offered once per month in DC and are being scheduled in regions now.
