Northeast
Scattered showers and thunderstorms will extend from New England to the Mid-Atlantic.
Isolated severe storms are possible, some with damaging winds and hail, from New York City southward into the eastern Mid-Atlantic.
South
Showers and thunderstorms will be numerous from the lower-Mississippi Valley eastward, and west into Texas. Isolated severe storms will be possible, particularly across the eastern and central Carolinas. High temperatures in the 100s are forecast for south Texas.
West
Isolated thunderstorms may affect portions of New Mexico, southeast Arizona, southern Colorado and Montana. An upper low off the California coast may trigger scattered storms with gusty winds or hail in Oregon and Northern California.
Temperatures will remain above average across the Northwest; some may reach the 100s across the interior, including Boise, Idaho and Yakima, Washington. An Excessive Heat Warning will be in effect beginning at 10 a.m. Sunday through 8 p.m.MST Monday for the south-central deserts of Arizona to include the greater Phoenix
Metropolitan area; the heat index may reach up to 115 degrees
Midwest
Scattered storms will push southward into the Northern Plains from Canada, bringing showers to the Dakotas, Minnesota, northern Wisconsin and the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. Eastern portions of

Central Pacific
At 5 a.m. EDT, August 2, the center of Tropical Storm Lana was located approximately 375 miles south-southwest of the Big Island and moving west, away from the Islands, at 18 mph. Maximum sustained winds are near 50 mph with higher gusts; some weakening is forecast during the next 24 hours.
An area of scattered thunderstorms is located 1200 miles southeast of Hilo Hawaii. Probability is low for a tropical cyclone to develop during the next two days.
