Significant National Weather

South
A few thunderstorms are predicted for Oklahoma, Texas and Louisiana.  Some of the storms could be severe north of the Red River. In the Southeast, thunderstorms will gradually increase today from the Carolinas to the Florida Peninsula.

Midwest  
Thunderstorms are forecast Monday from eastern North Dakota and western Minnesota to Kansas, where some storms may be severe.

Northeast 
The risk of thunderstorms will return to the Mid-Atlantic States, producing intermittent showers and thunderstorms into the week.

West 
Isolated to widely scattered thunderstorms will be confined to Nevada, southern Wyoming and the Four Corners states. (NOAA, National Weather Service, Various Media Sources)

Tropical Weather Outlook

Atlantic
A tropical wave located a couple of hundred miles east of the Windward Islands has become less organized over the past several hours. Locally heavy rainfall and gusty winds could affect the Windward Islands during the next day or so as the wave moves westward at 15 to 20 mph. There is less than a 30 percent chance of this system becoming a tropical cyclone during the next 48 hours. Elsewhere, tropical cyclone formation is not expected during the next 48 hours.

Eastern Pacific
Tropical Cyclone formation is not expected during the next 48 hours.

Central Pacific
A surface trough more than 500 miles south-southwest of the Big Island of Hawaii has been moving west at 10 to 15 mph. Showers and thunderstorms associated with the system have weakened or dissipated over the past six hours. Tropical cyclone development in the area is unlikely over the next 48 hours.

Western Pacific 
No activity affecting U.S. territories.(NOAA, HPC, National Hurricane Center, Central Pacific Hurricane Center and the Joint Typhoon Warning Center)

Red Rock Fire, Nevada. Fire Management Assistance Grant (FMAG-2822) was approved July 17 for the Red Rock Fire, Washoe County, Nevada. 10,549 acres, 60% contained; estimated containment date is July 20. No structures lost. (Inciweb, NIFC, FEMA HQ, Media Sources)
