Thunderstorms are forecast for Upper Michigan, South Dakota, Nebraska, Kansas and western Iowa. Severe weather may spread from southeast Wyoming and northeast Colorado to Nebraska. Hail, strong winds, and some tornado activity are possible.
West

Broken Snowshoe Fire located 3.5 miles north of McGrath, Alaska: 25,345 acres have burned with 41% containment. All crews are located off the western flank of the fire; the remaining 4 crews have been moved to the southeastern edge and will continue the line east and north. The fire was officially turned over to the Type 3 Incident Management Team. The new team will continue with the containment objectives on the fires edge. Effective June 4, 2009, FEMA-1840-DR-Florida, Amendment #1 was amended to include Baker, Clay, Flagler, and Putnam Counties for Public Assistance, and Volusia County for Public Assistance (already designated for Individual Assistance).
