Midwest
Winter will continue in the northern Plains and Upper Midwest as a Pacific storm system moves eastward over the Plains, dumping wet snow on the Dakotas, Minnesota, and western Wisconsin by the end of the day. A mixture of rain and snow, resulting in three to six inches of slushy accumulation, are likely in Iowa. Scattered showers and thundershowers are expected to dot Nebraska, Kansas, Missouri and western Illinois.
South
Northern Florida and areas near the central Gulf Coast may be particularly wet with locally heavy downpours likely from southern Louisiana to the Florida Peninsula. More scattered showers are expected across the southern Plains and Lower Mississippi Valley. The Carolinas, eastern Tennessee and western and central Texas may not experience any precipitation at all.
West
Showers and mountain snows will continue to speckle the Pacific Northwest and Rocky Mountain region, although nothing particularly heavy is expected. Southern California, Nevada and Arizona will be sunny; however gusty winds will dust up the Intermountain region as far south as northern Arizona and northern New Mexico.
Northeast
A few stray snow showers or flurries are expected in northern New England, Upstate New York and northwest Pennsylvania. High temperatures will hover 8 or 10 degrees below seasonal norms for the region. (NWS, Media Sources)
