National Weather

South
Record breaking morning lows are in the forecast on Easter Sunday across the South with temperatures dropping into the 30s along the northern Gulf Coast to the 20s from the Carolinas to the Panhandle of Texas.  Afternoon highs will only warm into the 30s in the Texas Panhandle, with the 50s for much of the South, with a few 60s and 70s along the immediate Southeast Coast and Florida

Midwest
Morning lows are forecast to range from the single digits in the Dakotas, to the teens from Minnesota to Kansas, with the 20s from Missouri to Michigan.  Across the Great Plains and the Midwest, highs will be in the 30s and 40s with a few 20s in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. The Great Plains and most of the Midwest will remain mostly sunny with snow and snow showers confined to Michigan south into Ohio. It is to be windy around the Great Lakes and in the Great Plains; from western Kansas to the Dakotas and eastern Montana.

Northeast
The Northeast and the Mid-Atlantic morning lows in the teens and 20s. High temperatures into the 30s and 40s. Around the Great Lakes clouds and snow will remain in the forecast due to arctic winds streaming over the lakes. Afternoon snow showers/flurries across New England down to Pennsylvania. Afternoon highs from Southeastern Pennsylvania to northern Virginia will be in the upper 40s to lower 50s.

West
Afternoon highs will range from the 50s around Seattle, to the 70s around Napa Valley, and into the 90s around Phoenix. A storm system will move across the Great Basin and into New Mexico and Colorado bringing some rain and snow. Most of the western region will have mostly sunny skies. (NWS, Media Sources)

Earthquake Activity

A minor earthquake occurred at 7:55 PM EDT on Saturday, April 7, 2007. The magnitude 4.2 event occurred 26 miles west of Ferndale, California, at a depth of 4.7 miles.
