January 22, 2014 - News Release

DENVER — FEMA announced today that federal disaster aid totaling $3,965,356.40 has been made available to Mor-Gran-Sou Electric Cooperative and $1,240,902.86 has been made available to Slope Electric Cooperative.  The funds are being made available as part of the federal disaster declaration made by President Obama to assist North Dakota in dealing with the early October blizzard.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The U.S. Department of Homeland Security's Federal Emergency Management Agency announced that federal disaster aid has been made available to the State of North Dakota to supplement state and local recovery efforts in the area affected by a severe winter storm during the period of October 4-5, 2013.

Public Assistance - Dollars Approved

Public Assistance (PA): Disaster grant assistance available for communities to quickly respond to and recover from major disasters or emergencies declared by the President

Emergency Work (Categories A-B): Work that must be performed to reduce or eliminate an immediate threat to life, protect public health and safety, and to protect improved property that is significantly threatened due to disasters or emergencies declared by the President

Permanent Work (Categories C-G): Work that is required to restore a damaged facility, through repair or restoration, to its pre-disaster design, function, and capacity in accordance with applicable codes and standards
