Operations in Connecticut are progressing at a steady pace.   As of today, 247 Requests for Public Assistance have been received and “kickoff” meetings began this week.

WINDSOR, Conn. -- In 2011, Connecticut was hammered by severe weather, resulting in three major declarations and two emergency declarations. The Federal Emergency Management Agency's Public Assistance (PA) program provides supplemental federal assistance to local, county and tribal governments, to state government agencies, and to certain private nonprofit organizations, all of which must meet specific criteria.

WASHINGTON -- The U.S. Department of Homeland Security's Federal Emergency Management Agency announced that federal disaster aid has been made available to the State of Connecticut and ordered federal aid to supplement state and local recovery efforts in the area affected by a severe storm during the period of October 29-30, 2011.
