MIDLOTHIAN, Va. - Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) registration deadline for renters, homeowners and business owners in central Virginia who suffered damage from the August 23 earthquake is one week away. Counties designated for disaster assistance are Albemarle, Culpeper, Fluvanna, Goochland, King George, Louisa, Orange and Spotsylvania as well as the City of Fredericksburg. The deadline to register for disaster aid is Monday March 5, 2012.

Midlothian, Va. -- All FEMA Disaster Recovery Centers (DRCs) will close at the end of business Saturday, February 11, 2012 state and federal officials have announced. DRCs are located in Louisa County at 520 E. Main St., Louisa, VA, and in Spotsylvania County at 8960 Courthouse Rd., Spotsylvania, VA. One-on-one assistance is still available by calling the FEMA helpline at 1-800-621-FEMA (3362). Disaster survivors may speak with FEMA specialists for a variety of reasons:

MIDLOTHIAN, Va. -- Natural disasters disrupt the daily routine of survivors' lives, and nowhere is a disrupted routine more evident than when a school is destroyed.  The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) is awarding approximately $3.25 million dollars to rebuild Louisa County Public Schools' Thomas Jefferson Elementary School.  This is FEMA's first Public Assistance grant over $1 million to assist the Commonwealth following the August earthquake.

Midlothian, VA -- The Virginia Department of Emergency Management (VDEM) and the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) announced today that Albemarle and King George counties are now eligible for Individual Assistance (IA) as part of Virginia's federal earthquake disaster declaration. Under the Individual Assistance program homeowners, renters and business owners in these counties are now eligible for assistance to help them recover from the earthquake.
