SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico -- Puerto Rico disaster survivors who have not yet registered for federal disaster assistance have only 8 more days to apply. December 19, 2011, is the last day to apply for most disaster assistance programs of the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), according to Government of Puerto Rico and federal officials.
SAN JUAN, PR -- Survivors affected by Tropical Storm María living in the municipalities of Juana Díaz, Naguabo and Yabucoa may qualify for individual disaster assistance from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and the Government of Puerto Rico. “We want to ensure that any eligible survivor receives the disaster assistance necessary to start recovering”, said Justo Hernández, FEMA’s Federal Coordinating Officer. “If you have not applied yet, do it quickly”.
SAN JUAN, PR -- The Government of Puerto Rico and the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) will open tomorrow, a State/Federal Disaster Recovery Center (DRC) in Yabucoa to support applicants which have already registered for disaster assistance with FEMA. Partnering with State and Municipal governments, FEMA will provide survivors information on disaster assistance available, low interest federal disaster loans, disaster crisis counseling, voluntary agency disaster assistance and preventive measures to mitigate future damages to property and life.
