ALBANY, N.Y. -- Mitigation experts from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) will be at the Model Train Fair in Syracuse this weekend to offer information on preparing for future disasters, flood insurance and rebuilding safer and stronger. FEMA staff will have a display booth at The Great New York State Model Train Fair, on Saturday, Nov. 5 and Sunday, Nov. 6 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 581 State Fair Boulevard, Syracuse, N.Y. 13209.

ALBANY, N.Y. – The state and federal Disaster Recovery Center (DRC) in Gloversville, operating from the Gloversville Senior Citizens Services Center at 53 Church Street, will close Tuesday, Nov. 1, at 8 p.m., according to officials from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA).

ALBANY, N.Y. – Some individuals who registered for federal disaster assistance due to Hurricane Irene and/or Tropical Storm Lee may have been denied aid. An appeals process, however, can ensure those affected by the storms will receive all benefits for which they are legally eligible. “The recovery process doesn’t necessarily end with the initial determination,” said Federal Coordinating Officer Philip E. Parr. “Sometimes ineligibility may mean that more information is needed.”

ALBANY, N.Y. – The state and federal Disaster Recovery Center (DRC) in Johnson City, operating from the Police Department at 31 Avenue C, will close Friday, Nov. 4, at 8 p.m., according to officials from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). A number of DRCs remain open to serve the public. People who were unable to visit the facility closing in Johnson City can seek information and guidance at those DRCs that continue to operate.
