ALBANY, NY – To continue serving disaster survivors affected by the recent storms in New York, the Disaster Recovery Center (DRC) currently operating in the Broome County Library at 185 Court Street in Binghamton will close Friday, Nov. 18, and transition to a U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) Disaster Loan Outreach Center (DLOC) opening Monday, November 21. The DLOC will be open Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. It is closed Saturday and Sunday.

Y.  – New Yorkers affected by Hurricane Irene and Tropical Storm Lee have only 30 more days to register with the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) for possible federal disaster assistance. It’s important that those who may need to register for aid do so as soon as possible. Registrations cannot be accepted after the December 15, 2011 deadline.

FEMA staff will have a display booth at the Arts & Crafts Fair, on Saturday, Nov. 12, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday, Nov. 13, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Herkimer County Community College, 100 Reservoir Road, Herkimer, N.Y. 13350.
