SAN JUAN, PR -- The Government of Puerto Rico and the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) will open tomorrow, two additional State/Federal Disaster Recovery Centers (DRC) in San Lorenzo and Vega Baja to support applicants which have already registered for disaster assistance with FEMA. DRCs operating hours are from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday through Saturday, until further notice. SAN JUAN, PR -- As the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) continues providing disaster aid to survivors of Hurricane Irene in Puerto Rico, it advices applicants to provide accurate and verifiable information. FEMA may use an automated system that cross-checks information with other agencies and can request applicants for evidence of insurance coverage to avoid the duplication of benefits.

SAN JUAN, PR -- The Government of Puerto Rico and the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) will open tomorrow, four additional State/Federal Disaster Recovery Centers (DRC) in Humacao, Jayuya, Patillas and Villalba to support survivors which have already registered for disaster assistance with FEMA. Also starting this weekend, all DRCs will remain closed on Sundays. Now, DRCs operating hours are from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday through Saturday, until further notice. The new centers will be available at the following locations:

SAN JUAN, PR -- After applying for disaster assistance with the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), many Hurricane Irene survivors may receive a loan application from the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA). They must complete and submit this loan application without delay, to further the federal aid process. If determined that a homeowner or renter cannot afford a loan, the applicant will be referred to other assistance programs available.
