SAN JUAN, PR -- Puerto Rico disaster survivors who have not yet registered for federal disaster assistance have only two more weeks to apply. October 26, 2011, is the last day to apply for most disaster assistance programs of the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), according to Government of Puerto Rico and federal officials.

SAN JUAN, PR -- Government of Puerto Rico and federal officials urged survivors unemployed as a direct result of the damages caused by Hurricane Irene in Fajardo, Gurabo, Las Piedras, Naguabo, Naranjito, Río Grande, San Lorenzo, Trujillo Alto, Vega Baja, Vieques and Villalba to apply for benefit payments under the Disaster Unemployment Assistance (DUA) program, before October 17, 2011.

SAN JUAN, PR -- Government of Puerto Rico and federal officials announced today, that State/Federal Disaster Recovery Centers will change their operating hours starting Monday, October 10, 2011. The centers will now be available Monday through Friday, from 7:00 am to 6:00 p.m. On Saturdays, the Centers will work from 8:00 am to 1:00 pm and will remain closed on Sundays. Centers will remain open on Monday, October 10 and Wednesday, October 12 (Columbus Day Holiday) on their regular hours.

SAN JUAN, PR -- The Government of Puerto Rico and the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) will open tomorrow, a State/Federal Disaster Recovery Center (DRC) in Aguas Buenas to support applicants which have already registered for disaster assistance with FEMA. DRC operating hours are Monday through Friday, from 7:00 am to 6:00 pm and Saturday from 8:00 am to 1:00 pm. The new center will be available at the following location: DRC in Aguas BuenasEstadio Sammy RodríguezCarr. 174, Km 28

SAN JUAN, PR -- The State/Federal Disaster Recovery Centers in Luquillo, Juncos and Ponce will be ceasing their operations on Saturday October 8, 2011, announced today officials of the Government of Puerto Rico and the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). Survivors may continue visiting the remaining DRCs and applying for disaster assistance by calling 1-800-621-3362 (FEMA), via internet at www.disasterassistance.gov, www.fema.gov or via mobile phone application m.fema.gov.
