SAN JUAN, PR -- The Government of Puerto Rico and the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) officials announced that all Disaster Recovery Centers in Puerto Rico will remain closed in observance of Veterans Day national holiday, Friday, November 11 and Saturday, November 12. The Centers will resume operations on Monday, November 14, 2011 in their regular hours of 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., Monday through Friday; Saturday’s hours are from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00p.m.

SAN JUAN, PR -- Puerto Rico residents who suffered losses caused by the heavy rains, flooding, landslides and mudslides left by Hurricane Irene have more time to apply for federal/state disaster recovery assistance. Officials of the Government of Puerto Rico and the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) announced that the period to register for assistance has been extended from October 26 to November 25, 2011.
