COLUMBIA, Mo. -- The Federal Emergency Management Agency Public Assistance program has obligated $1 million to the state of Missouri for reimbursements of disaster related expenses and damage in local communities caused by flooding in Northwest Missouri between June 1 through Aug. 1, 2011.  The Public Assistance program provides grants to reimburse for seven categories that may be eligible for assistance under the Public Assistance program including:

COLUMBIA, Mo. -- Residents of Andrew, Atchison, Buchanan, Holt, Lafayette and Platte counties have one week left to register for federal disaster aid, recovery officials announced Monday. The deadline for survivors of the summer flooding in northwest Missouri to register with the Federal Emergency Management Agency is Monday, Dec. 12, 2011. To date, 850 flood survivors have registered for flood assistance from FEMA, and more than $8 million in federal grants and loans has been approved to help eligible registrants.

COLUMBIA, Mo. –Survivors of the 2011 Missouri River flooding have only one more day to take advantage of assistance available at the Disaster Recovery Center (DRC) in Buchanan County.  The DRC, located in St. Joseph, is scheduled to close at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 10, 2011 but federal recovery assistance will remain available on the Internet or by phone.

COLUMBIA, Mo. -- At the request of Missouri Gov. Jay Nixon, the Federal Emergency Management Agency has extended the deadline for renters, homeowners and business owners in Andrew, Atchison, Buchanan, Holt, Lafayette, and Platte counties who suffered damage from flooding to register for state and federal disaster assistance. The new deadline is Dec. 12, 2011. "Use the additional time to complete the Small Business Administration low interest disaster loan application.  This is a critical step in the recovery process,” FEMA Federal Coordinating Officer Mike Karl said.

COLUMBIA, Mo. -- The Federal Emergency Management Agency and the state of Missouri announced today the closing of the Disaster Recovery Center at 4950 Frederick Ave., St. Joseph, Mo., at 1 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 10, 2011. The recovery center is open Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Saturday, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. After a recovery center closes, flood survivors in Andrew, Atchison, Buchanan, Holt, Lafayette and Platte counties can still get help with disaster assistance questions by calling the FEMA Helpline at 1-800-621-FEMA (3362).
