LITTLE ROCK, Ark. -- In the months since flooding devastated much of northern and eastern Arkansas, flood insurance policy sales in the state have increased by more than 5 percent, and six communities have either joined or re-entered the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP).

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. -- For residents and business owners in Franklin and Johnson counties affected by the May 24-26 tornadoes and storms, the clock is ticking down to the Sept. 6 deadline for registering with the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA).

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. -- Franklin and Johnson county residents and business owners who sustained damage during the May 24-26 storms and tornadoes have just two weeks to register for government disaster assistance. The registration deadline is Sept. 6, according to the Arkansas Department of Emergency Management (ADEM) and the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA).

Public Assistance - Dollars Approved

Public Assistance (PA): Disaster grant assistance available for communities to quickly respond to and recover from major disasters or emergencies declared by the President

Emergency Work (Categories A-B): Work that must be performed to reduce or eliminate an immediate threat to life, protect public health and safety, and to protect improved property that is significantly threatened due to disasters or emergencies declared by the President

Permanent Work (Categories C-G): Work that is required to restore a damaged facility, through repair or restoration, to its pre-disaster design, function, and capacity in accordance with applicable codes and standards

*Dollars Obligated: Funds made available to the State via electronic transfer following FEMA's final review and approval of Public Assistance projects.
