Littleton, Colo. -- To date, more than $935 thousand in reimbursement funds have been made available to the state for distribution eligible applicants in the wake of the Colorado severe winter storms that hit the state between December 18 - 22 and 28 - 31, 2006, according to Colorado Division of Emergency Management (CDEM) and Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) recovery officials.

LITTLETON, Colo. -- Colorado residents in the declared counties affected by the severe winter storms of Dec. 18-22 and 28-31, 2006 may be eligible for various forms of tax relief that could lessen some losses, according to federal and state recovery officials.

Littleton , Colo. -- Colorado Department of Emergency Management and the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) representatives and Colorado disaster recovery officials announced today the scheduled briefing for local Larimer County officials interested in applying for federal disaster assistance in the wake of Colorado snowstorms during the period of December 18-22. Agencies eligible to participate include state agencies, local governments, public utilities, and certain private non-profit organizations.

Public Assistance - Dollars Approved

Public Assistance (PA): Disaster grant assistance available for communities to quickly respond to and recover from major disasters or emergencies declared by the President

Emergency Work (Categories A-B): Work that must be performed to reduce or eliminate an immediate threat to life, protect public health and safety, and to protect improved property that is significantly threatened due to disasters or emergencies declared by the President

Permanent Work (Categories C-G): Work that is required to restore a damaged facility, through repair or restoration, to its pre-disaster design, function, and capacity in accordance with applicable codes and standards

*Dollars Approved: Assistance dollars approved but not necessarily disbursed.

*Dollars Obligated: Funds made available to the State via electronic transfer following FEMA's final review and approval of Public Assistance projects.
