Washington, DC - The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has authorized federal assistance to help Tennessee fight another wildfire outbreak located near the town of Pigeon Forge in Sevier County. The state's request for federal fire management assistance was approved late yesterday after it was reported that the Ridge Crest fire posed a threat to more than 100 homes in the Ridge Crest Subdivision. The fire, which started last Monday, had burned about 1,000 acres at the time of the request.
