Washington, D.C. -- The uncontrolled Quail Run fire located in Parker County has been added to the list of Texas blazes designated for federal firefighting funds by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). The state's latest request for the fire suppression assistance was approved yesterday after it was reported that the 300-acre fire had destroyed one home and posed a threat to 60 other dwellings in a subdivision of Parker County. The action brings to 17 the number of Texas fires that have been authorized for FEMA fire suppression aid so far this year.
