HELENA, Mont. -- Federal assistance for storm and flood-related damages has reached over $62 million in Montana, according to Montana Disaster and Emergency Services, the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and the Small Business Administration (SBA). One week remains to register for homeowners, renters and businesses in affected counties.  The deadline to register for federal assistance is October 11, 2011.

Disaster assistance is available to those who had damages or losses as a result of flooding that occurred between April 4 and July 22 in 31 Montana counties and four reservations. Residents affected by flooding must apply for assistance by September 26.

HELENA, Mont. -- A state and federal Disaster Recovery Center will be opening in Kalispell to assist individuals, households and businesses affected by storms and flooding this spring. Residents in Flathead County and the Blackfeet Reservation are eligible for disaster assistance from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA).

Helena, Mont -- The state and federal Disaster Recovery Center (DRC) in Helena will close at noon on Friday, September 2.  Two DRCs are opening in other locations on Thursday, September 1.  A DRC will open in Kalispell at the Emergency Services Building and another in Forsyth at Forsyth City Hall.

HELENA, Mont. -- If you sustained damage in the storms and floods that hit Montana from April 4 to July 22, circle September 26 on your calendar. That's the deadline to register for individual assistance if you sustained damage. "We cannot overemphasize how important it is for Montanans to register," said Ed Tinsley, Montana Disaster and Emergency Services Administrator. "Registering with FEMA could open the door to assistance for the different types of losses Montanans suffered during this disaster."
