COLUMBIA, Mo. – Many disaster survivors may be faced with questions about mortgage payoffs. Some applicants may receive insurance proceeds and their bank or mortgage holder may require the total mortgage be paid in full. This is known as a forced payoff, possibly leaving the applicant with an unmet need or unable to repair their home.

COLUMBIA, Mo. -- The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) announced today it will open a Mobile Disaster Recovery Center (MDRC) in Stone County to help survivors of the recent severe storms, flooding and tornadoes with their applications for disaster aid. The MDRC will be located at the Reeds Springs Elementary School, 300 Wolves Lane in Reeds Springs. Operating hours will be Monday, June 13, 2011, from 1 to 6 p.m., and Tuesday, June 14 through Saturday, June 18, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. The MDRC will remain operational through June 18.
