NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- Tennesseans in 17 counties who suffered losses from the recent severe storms, tornadoes, and flooding have been approved for more than $23.6 million in federal help. More than 11,871 survivors have registered with the Federal Emergency Management Agency for disaster assistance. At close of business June 29, 2011, the following is a snapshot of disaster recovery:

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- The FEMA Disaster Recovery Center in Shelby County will close Monday, July 4, for the Independence Day holiday. It will reopen Tuesday, July 5, to assist survivors of the recent severe storms, tornadoes and flooding. With the exception of the holiday, hours are 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday until further notice. The center is in the Code Enforcement Building, 6465 Mullins Station Road, Memphis, TN 38134.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- The Disaster Recovery Center in Lincoln County will close at 8 p.m. CDT on Thursday, June 30, 2011. The center, on Jay Street in Fayetteville, has been helping survivors of the recent severe storms, tornadoes and flooding. Its closure does not mean federal assistance is at an end. NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- Disaster Recovery Centers are closing in Dyer, Gibson and Lauderdale counties after weeks of helping survivors of the recent storms, tornadoes and flooding. The official closing time for all three centers is 6 p.m. CDT on Thursday, June 30, 2011. The closures do not mean federal assistance is at an end. NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- For the second time, a Tipton County Disaster Recovery Center is ready to assist survivors of the severe storms, tornadoes and flooding that began April 19. The center is at the National Guard Armory, 4500 Mueller Brass Road, Covington, TN 38019. It is open 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. CDT from Tuesday, June 28, through Thursday, June 30.
