ATLANTA, Ga. -- Survivors of the severe storms, tornadoes, straight-line winds and flooding from April 27-28 in Georgia should apply now for federal assistance. The Presidential declaration on April 29 made funding available to affected individuals in Bartow, Catoosa, Dade, Floyd, Polk, Spalding and Walker counties.

WASHINGTON -- The U.S. Department of Homeland Security's Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) announced that federal disaster aid has been made available to Georgia to supplement the state and local recovery efforts in the area struck by severe storms, tornadoes, straight-line winds, and associated flooding during the period of April 27-28, 2011.
