BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — All Alabama Disaster Recovery Centers will be closed Monday, July 4, in honor of the Fourth of July holiday. BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers turned over the keys to Birmingham Fire Station #18 on June 24, the seventh temporary critical facility completed by the Corps since the April tornadoes.

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Of the 43,000 disaster loan applications sent to survivors of the April and May storms and tornadoes by the U. S. Small Business Administration, fewer than 4,000 have been returned. SBA loans represent the major source of federal funding for home repair and reconstruction. SBA applications may also open the door to other financial assistance.

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – People in the 43 Alabama counties designated for individual assistance after the recent storms and tornadoes have 21 more days to apply for assistance from the Federal Emergency Management Agency and the U.S. Small Business Administration. The new deadline to apply for help is Monday, July 18.
