I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of the hardworking men and women with the town of Tushka, Atoka County, Choctow Nation, Oklahoma Office of Emergency Management, FEMA and the Small Business Administration (SBA), who have worked tirelessly since April 14 to help Tushka residents recover from the EF-3 tornado that devastated the small community. As the Federal Coordinating Officer for this Major Disaster Declaration, it has been a privilege to help coordinate the relief and recovery operation.
My name is Bill Doran and it is my privilege to be serving as your Federal Coordinating Officer (FCO) for FEMA Disaster 1970-OK. Our mission in Oklahoma is moving forward, in coordination with State Coordinating Officer (SCO) Albert Ashwood and our fellow federal, state and local partners.
On Friday, April 29, 2011, a Disaster Recovery Center (DRC) opened in Tushka, Oklahoma, the town devastated by a tornado on April 14. The DRC is located at the Tushka Town Hall at 101 Southeast 1st Street; it will be open Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and on Sunday from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

My mission while in Tushka, OK, is to work with State Coordinating Officer (SCO) Albert Ashwood and our fellow state, federal and local partners to maintain stability and flexibility to support the survivors and the state of Oklahoma.
