FEMA EXTENDS DISASTER REGISTRATION DEADLINE TO JULY 5 RALEIGH, NC. – People in 19 North Carolina counties who suffered damage and loss as a result of the April 16 storms and tornadoes have 15 more days to register for federal disaster assistance. The new deadline is Tuesday, July 5.

FEMA GRANTS HAVE NO IMPACT ON SOCIAL SECURITY OR OTHER BENEFITS RALEIGH, N.C. – If you are unsure about how federal disaster assistance may affect you financially, emergency management officials say there’s no need for concern. North Carolinians who receive grants for disaster-related losses don't have to worry about losing Social Security or disability benefits, pay additional taxes, or face a reduction from other income-based programs.
