WASHINGTON, D.C. -- The head of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security's Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Craig Fugate announced today a major disaster exists in the state of Maine and ordered federal aid to supplement state and local recovery efforts in the area struck by severe storms and flooding during the period of March 12 to April 1, 2010.
