PHILADELPHIA, Pa.  -- The catastrophic winter storms that inundated Virginia in December and February left the Commonwealth blanketed with record and near record snow amounts.  The result was two presidential disaster declarations which, as of September 30, has resulted in federal grants from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) totaling $28,459,094.47

WASHINGTON, D.C. -- The U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) today announced that federal disaster aid has been made available to the Commonwealth of Virginia to supplement commonwealth and local recovery efforts in the area struck by severe winter storms and snowstorms during the period of February 5-11, 2010.
