RICHMOND, Va. -- Under the Federal disaster declarations signed by the President earlier this year, certain private nonprofit organizations (PNPs) in Virginia may be eligible to receive Federal assistance when they meet certain Public Assistance (PA) criteria. The disaster declarations were the result of severe winter snowstorms that hit the Commonwealth in December and February.

RICHMOND, Va. -- The Virginia Department of Emergency Management (VDEM) and the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) today announced the cities of Covington, Galax and Radford have been added to the localities that are designated as eligible for infrastructure disaster aid under the Commonwealth  of Virginia’s disaster declaration for the December 18-20, 2010 severe winter storm and snowstorm. This brings the number of localities participating in the declaration to 48 for the December Storms.

RICHMOND, VA. -- The Virginia Department of Emergency Management (VDEM) and the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) today announced five additional localities have been designated as eligible for infrastructure disaster aid for the December 18 – 20, 2010, severe winter storm and snowstorm.  The localities are Craig, Roanoke, and Tazewell Counties and the Independent Cities of Fredericksburg and Roanoke.

RICHMOND, Va. - The Virginia Department of Emergency Management (VDEM) and the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) today announced there is just one week left for localities and private nonprofits to submit Requests for Public Assistance (RPAs) for damage resulting from the December 18-20, 2009 severe winter storm and snowstorm. The deadline is April 15, 2010.

WASHINGTON, D.C. -- The U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), today announced that federal disaster aid has been made available to the Commonwealth of Virginia to supplement state and local recovery efforts in the areas struck by severe winter storm and snowstorm during the period of December 18, 2009, to December 20, 2009.
