CHEEKTOWAGA, N.Y. -- Survivors of the severe storms and flooding of Aug. 8-10 in Cattaraugus, Chautauqua, and Erie counties have until Nov. 3, 2009 to register for disaster assistance from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). Saturday, Oct. 3 marks the halfway point in the 60-day registration period.

CHEEKTOWAGA, NY - Federal disaster officials announced today that Allegany County has been added to the Sept. 1 disaster declaration in western New York, following the storms and flooding of Aug. 8-10, 2009. Today's amendment authorizes all categories of the Federal Emergency Management Agency's (FEMA) Public Assistance program for state agencies, local jurisdictions and eligible nonprofit organizations in the county.

Cheektowaga, N.Y. -- As the Disaster Recovery Center at in Little Valley prepares to close Monday, disaster recovery officials from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and the New York State Emergency Management Office (SEMO) remind everyone that help is always just a phone call or mouse click away. The center, located at the County Center, 303 Court St., Little Valley, NY 14755, remains open from 8 a.m. - 8 p.m., through the close of business Monday, Sept. 28.

CHEEKTOWAGA, N.Y. -- State/FEMA Disaster Recovery Centers in Gowanda and Silver Creek are changing hours of operation, state and federal disaster recovery officials said today. The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and the New York State Emergency Management Office (SEMO) announced the new hours at both centers, starting Tuesday, Sept. 29, are from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, and closed on Sundays.
