CHEEKTOWAGA, N.Y. -- More than $45 million in federal disaster assistance is funding the recovery efforts in six western and central New York counties hit hard by the severe storms and flooding of Aug. 8 - 10. Nearly $4.4 million has been granted to individuals and households; disaster loans total more than $3.5 million, announced the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), the New York State Emergency Management Office (SEMO), and the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA).

CHEEKTOWAGA, N.Y. -- Two local resources have been organized to meet the needs of survivors of the Aug. 8-10 storms and flooding in Cattaraugus, Chautauqua and Erie counties.   Recovery of Chautauqua County (ROCC) and Recovery for Erie and Cattaraugus Counties Hope (REACH) have been formed to provide assistance that helps repair, replace, and rebuild those households whose needs are beyond the legal capacity of government assistance.

CHEEKTOWAGA, N.Y. -- The State/Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Disaster Recovery Center in Gowanda is changing hours of operation, disaster recovery officials announced today. Representatives of FEMA and the New York State Emergency Management Office (SEMO) said the new hours are from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday, effective Monday, Oct. 26. The center is located at the Gowanda Fire Hall, 230 Aldrich St., Gowanda, NY 14070.

CHEEKTOWAGA, N.Y. – There are two weeks left to register for the disaster assistance made available following the severe storms and flooding of August 8-10, recovery officials announced today. The deadline is Tuesday, November 3, for residents of Cattaraugus, Chautauqua, and Erie counties, according to officials from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and New York State Emergency Management Office (SEMO). November 3 is also the deadline to submit disaster loan applications to the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA).
