JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. -- The registration deadline for disaster assistance with the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) is August 18 for those impacted by the May 8 - 16 severe storms, tornadoes and flooding. Recovery officials urge Missouri residents who have not yet done so to register online at www.DisasterAssistance.gov or call 1-800-621-FEMA (3362), (TTY 1-800-462-7585). Phone lines are open daily from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m.

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. -- The Disaster Recovery Center in Adair County will transition to a Disaster Loan Outreach Center (DLOC) on Monday, July 20. Representatives from the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) will be available at the DLOC to meet with residents and business owners to answer questions about the SBA disaster loan program, help complete disaster loan applications and accept completed applications. The DLOC will be located in Adair County at the following location:   Adair County Annex Building300 N. FranklinKirksville, MO 63501

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. -- Those who lost employment as a result of the severe storms, tornadoes and flooding between May 8 - 16 have one week remaining to apply for Disaster Unemployment Assistance (DUA). The Missouri Department of Labor's Division of Employment Security will be accepting applications for disaster unemployment claims until July 23. For information about filing a claim, residents should call 800-788-4002.

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. -- Residents recovering from severe weather in Missouri are urged to be careful of fraud and other scams during recovery efforts. "The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) will never ask you for bank account information or your Social Security number unless you initiate the call," said Federal Coordinating Officer Tom Hall. FEMA and the State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) are particularly concerned about people pretending to be employed by FEMA, the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) or other agencies.

FranklinKirksville, MO 63501 Current hours are: Wednesday thru Friday 8 a.m. - 7 p.m., Saturday, 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and the State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) said the DRC is open to serve those affected by the May 8 - 16 severe storms, tornadoes and flooding.
