LITTLE ROCK, Ark. -- State and federal officials encourage Arkansas residents, living in Miller, Polk, and Sevier counties, with losses and damages from the April 9 severe storms and tornadoes to call and register with the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) at 1-800-621-FEMA (3362) as soon as possible. People with hearing or speech impairments may call (TTY) 800-462-7585. The toll-free registration numbers are available from 8 a.m. to midnight, daily. WASHINGTON, D.C. -- The head of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) today announced that federal disaster aid has been made available for the State of Arkansas to supplement state and local recovery efforts in the area struck by severe storms and tornadoes on April 9, 2009.
