INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. -- As 2008 draws to a close, time is also running out for applicants seeking to benefit from FEMA's Public Assistance (PA) Pilot Program. The final day of the program is New Year's Eve, December 31. Applicants would include state and local governments and certain private nonprofits who incurred debris removal costs following a disaster.

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. -- Federal disaster assistance for Indiana residents affected by the Sept. 12 through Oct. 6 storms and flooding is over $58 million. The assistance is in the form of grants from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and disaster loans from the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA). To date, 25,950 homeowners and renters have applied for disaster assistance.

This program temporarily waived certain regulations and allowed state and local governments to seek extra reimbursement for debris removal following a disaster. Applicants would include state and local governments and certain private nonprofits who incurred debris removal costs following a disaster.

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. -- Over $53 million in federal disaster assistance grants and loans have been approved so far by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) for Indiana residents who were affected by the Sept. 12 through Oct. 6 storms and flooding. To date, 25,717 homeowners and renters from the 30 designated counties have applied for disaster assistance.
