ORLANDO, Fla. -- The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has amended the Aug. 26 major disaster declaration to add Nassau, Palm Beach and Volusia counties for Public Assistance (PA).? Local governments and eligible private non-profit organizations in these designated counties may?apply for federal funds to pay 75 percent of the approved cost of debris removal, emergency services related to the disaster, and for repairing or replacing damaged public facilities, such as roads, buildings and utilities.

ORLANDO, Fla. -- Disaster Recovery Centers (DRCs) operated by the State Emergency Response Team (SERT) and the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) are open in Brevard County to bring state and federal disaster assistance directly to people in neighborhoods affected by Tropical  Storm Fay. "The DRCs bring joint recovery teams and resources directly to impacted communities," said State Coordinating Officer Craig Fugate. "We want survivors to know that help is right here in their neighborhood."
