McALLEN, Texas -- A month after Hurricane Dolly wreaked havoc in the Rio Grande Valley, more than $26.1 million has been approved to help those individuals, families, businesses and infrastructure affected by the storm. The Texas Governor's Division of Emergency Management (GDEM), the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) announced that $26,084,092.00 has been approved to help individuals and households in Cameron, Hidalgo, and Willacy counties.

McALLEN, Texas -- Another federal-state Disaster Recovery Center (DRC) will open Friday, Aug. 22, in Cameron County to assist individuals, households and businesses affected by Hurricane Dolly. The new DRC will be at the Trinity Home Care Hall, 405 Farm-to-Market Road 506, Santa Rosa, Texas, 78593. The hours will be 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and from 1 to 7 p.m. Sunday. Officials of the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and the Texas Governor's Division of Emergency Management (GDEM) say this applies to the recovery for Hurricane Dolly in the Rio Grande Valley as well.

Texas residents eager to move their recovery along following Hurricane Dolly will likely need one or more contractors to help them repair disaster damages or rebuild their homes and businesses. McALLEN, Texas -- Disaster applicants who have received a U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) disaster loan applications should take the time to fill it out ? even if they don't want a loan or think they can't afford one. According to the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and the Texas Governor's Division of Emergency Management (GDEM), when an applicant is referred to the SBA, a loan application has to be completed before additional assistance options can be considered.

McALLEN, Texas -- Homeowners, landlords and business owners are urged to check with local and county governments regarding permits before repairing or rebuilding a structure damaged by winds or flooding. There can be strict local requirements on how and where structures may be renovated. "Specific requirements are in place to assure there is a lessening or even a removal of potential for damage in future storms," said Federal Coordinating Officer Sandy Coachman of the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA).

McALLEN, Texas ? A Disaster Recovery Center (DRC) will open Wednesday, Aug. 13, in Sebastian to assist Willacy County individuals, households and businesses affected by Hurricane Dolly, recovery officials have announced. It will be located at the IRRA Community Building, formerly known as the Martin Cavazos Center for Education and Advancement, 3870 N. West Ave., Sebastian, Texas 78594. The DRC will operate from 1 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, and will remain open from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Thursday, Friday and Saturday. This DRC will close at the end of business Saturday.
